You got engaged! Now let’s celebrate this big moment with your friends and family in a fun, unique way! Let’s plan an adventure engagement party!
Step One: Invite everyone to join you and your new fiancé at the Cabins at Holly Creek for a fun weekend away from the hustle and bustle of town. Pack up the cars with your hiking boots, swimsuits, and ice chests and head to Broken Bow. You’ll enjoy the scenic drive to Holly Creek, and unlike many of the roads leading to neighboring cabins, you will be pleased to find our roads in good condition! As you enter the gates, you will realize how private our cabins are. You can reserve the whole area of five cabins and one venue for just your party and have no worries of surrounding cabins and people invading your privacy or ruining your peace and quiet. In fact, you can reserve the entire area for less than you would ever expect! Assign cabins to your party based on how much space they need and get ready for an exciting weekend. Change into your party clothes and invite everyone to join you at the large venue space.
Step Two: Host an unforgettable engagement party in the Rustic Rose Hall venue. Decorate the tables with engagement photos. (We recommend taking your photos right here in Beavers Bend State Park.) The venue is versatile for your style and theme, but for an adventure engagement party, it would be nice to add accents from nature and florals to match the season. Invite your guests to enjoy the game room or to play corn hole on the back patio while drinks are served from the indoor/outdoor bar area. Roll the available ice chests outdoors to keep canned drinks chilled for your guests that are mingling under the pine trees while those indoors can enjoy a frozen beverage while your DJ plays your favorite tunes. Use the available grill to serve up something delicious or hire a caterer if you’d prefer. While everyone is enjoying their dinner, project a slide show highlighting the moments of your relationship that led to this momentous occasion.
Step Three: As the party winds down, invite your guests to gather around the fire pits at the cabins for s’mores and relaxation. Enjoy the calming sounds of nature and the cool breezes. Stay up as late as you like, but remind everyone that you have big adventures planned for the next day. Your engagement party has just begun!
Step Four: After sharing breakfast, head to Beavers Bend State Park for adventuring with your people. Hike any of the trails that they have clearly marked for you and enjoy traversing the hills of the Ozarks or crossing the creek beds. Stop to take photos along the way with not just your fiancé but with all of the people you are celebrating with. Choose a casual kayak trip around the river bend or book a more adventurous kayak trip with one of the many kayaking tours available. These offer a variety of tours depending on your interests and abilities. Maybe you would rather rent a pontoon boat and spend the day on Broken Bow Lake fishing or swimming or just boating around while hanging out with your people. These are all some fun, adventurous options available for you.
Step Five: Time for dinner! You have many choices of restaurants, breweries, and wineries in Hochatown. Abendigo’s serves a delicious steak. The Grateful Head has some fun pizza choices. Naaman’s has the best BBQ. Shuck Me serves seafood. Hochatown Saloon has some tasty American choices. Fish Tales and Girls Gone Wine are two options for wineries. Or visit the Mountain Fork Brewery or Beavers Bend Brewery. The new Choctaw Landing Casino is open now for those interested in testing their luck indoors after a day spent in nature.
Step Six: Wrap it up! Head back to Holly Creek to enjoy your last evening with your friends and family. Fill the pool with engagement themed floats like these fun engagement rings and some glow-in-the-dark beach balls. Play some of your favorite love songs and lounge in the pool chairs discussing all of those plans you already have for the upcoming wedding.
Happy Engagement to you and yours! We hope you plan a fun, adventurous engagment party to celebrate the occasion.
